Lightning Risk Engineer (USA/Europe)
Skytree Scientific is revolutionizing the lightning protection industry with its cutting-edge AI-powered SaaS platform. We are seeking a passionate and motivated Lightning Risk Engineer to join our growing team. This role will play a key part in supporting our product/platform development, providing technical expertise to clients, and contributing to the advancement of lightning protection solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to clients on using Skytree's platform for lightning risk assessment.
- Technical Support: Assist clients with interpreting assessment results and implementing appropriate protection measures.
- Technical Support: Troubleshoot technical issues and answer client questions related to lightning protection and earthing systems.
- Product Development: Contribute to the development and improvement of Skytree's platform by providing feedback and insights from a lightning engineering perspective.
- Product Development: Assist in testing and validating new features and functionalities.
- Product Development: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in lightning protection technology and standards.
- Training and Education: Develop and deliver training materials for clients on lightning protection principles, best practices, and the use of Skytree's platform.
- Training and Education: Conduct webinars and workshops to educate clients on lightning risk management.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on lightning-related topics, including lightning physics, protection systems, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Research and Analysis: Contribute to the development of technical content, such as white papers, blog posts, and case studies.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to provide technical expertise and support marketing initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the product development team to ensure the platform meets the needs of lightning protection engineers and clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong understanding of lightning protection principles, standards (including IEC 62305 and NFPA 780), and best practices.
- Familiarity with lightning protection system design, installation, and maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using software tools and technologies.
- (is a plus) 3+ years of experience in the lightning protection industry.
- (is a plus) Experience with lightning risk assessment process and studies
- (is a plus) Knowledge of earthing systems and grounding practices.
Competitive Compensation Package:
- The annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 USD

We are a remote, distributed team. Candidates for this position should be based in North America or Europe, reporting to Skytree Scientific’s senior leadership team. Both domestic and international travel is expected.
