Florent Giraudet

Florent Giraudet is an independent consultant operating under the brand name Metarresters, dedicated to helping the energy supply industry improve lightning performance, surge arrester technologies, and insulation coordination. With more than 15 years of industry experience, Florent is recognized for his deep technical expertise in surge protection applications on power systems, including monitoring systems, and specialized line surge arrester solutions. He has played a leading role in advancing the global adoption of line surge arresters and is actively shaping international standards as Convenor of IEC TC37 Working Group 14 and contributor to IEC PT60099-11, MT4, CIGRE JWG B2/C4.76, and C4.57. A native French speaker fluent in English and proficient in German, Florent holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Industrial and Electrical Engineering from CESI in Lyon, France. His career has included key technical roles at Siemens Germany and Tridelta Meidensha before establishing Metarresters. Today, he supports utilities, manufacturers, and engineering firms worldwide with cutting-edge tools such as SIGMA SLP and I3CM LLS, providing a structured, data-driven approach to lightning performance analysis, system studies, and mitigation strategies.
